This is correct if you want to finish while GW2 is still an active, supported game. Best case, 27,200 mithril ore is over 9,000 strikes with your mining tool on a mithril node. The fastest way would be doing event maps that give you a lot of loot bags and opening them on lvl 80 characters and then salvaging it.
